In this newsletter we would like to give you an update on Corona. Furthermore we would like to point you to our updated website content. An article on ScienceFocus.com reports on mini-robots that can move on water-like surfaces and Vice Managing Director Holger Bäuerle answers three questions about the MED.OEM division. Finally, we would like to draw your attention to the Optatec showroom.

Corona Update

The corona case numbers are currently increasing from day to day. CeramOptec® follows the official corona guidelines and the directives of the German government to ensure the safety of our team, our customers and our suppliers. We have, of course, taken measures to protect our employees, such as the possibility of working from home. In spite of these measures, the entire production, logistics, customer service and sales department is thus 100% there for you! We are still available by phone and e-mail. The daily business and our supply chain are not affected.

New Content On The Website

We have updated the website to the latest software to add new features for customers, such as improved readability on mobile devices. We will also be adding an interactive trade show presence to the website to enable an even better dialogue with the customer.
We have also revised some menu items such as "Press review" and "Press releases", as well as the information texts.

Microscopic Robots With Legs

The novel robots are smaller than 0.1 millimeters and thus no larger than paramecia. The legs are controlled by laser drive. This allows the world's smallest robots to move on water-like surfaces.

1 Mr. Bäuerle, you are Vice Managing Director of CeramOptec. What is MED.OEM and what is its significance for fiber optic solutions?
Bäuerle: MED.OEM stands for Medical Original Equipment Manufacturer. Fiber optics can be used in a wide range of medical applications, for example for treatments with probes or laser technologies.



2 What does MED.OEM mean for CeramOptec?
Bäuerle: We use our products and our know-how in terms of individually developed assemblies. This enables us to offer physicians exactly the right fibers and probes for different applications. We manufacture probes and light guides for medical lasers that are tailor-made and therefore fit every laser.

Optatec Is Cancelled

The Optatec would actually have taken place on November 17-19, 2020. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to Corona. However, you can still visit our Optatec showroom on the Optatec website. There you will find information about our Safety Fiber and much more.
