Dear Mister/Miss ,

In this newsletter we will announce the new date for the Optatec in Frankfurt/Main and give you an update regarding our customer visits.  In addition, the laser is celebrating its 60th birthday and a new law in physics could make eye surgery much simpler. Last but not least, we have an interview with Holger Bäuerle, our Vice Managing Director, in which he talks about the current situation and gives an outlook for the future.

60 years of laser!

The first laser was put into operation 60 years ago. Since then, the beam of light has come a long way. It is used in medicine as well as in the building industry and today it is impossible to imagine life without it.

A New Law in Physics!

Scientists of the University of Sydney Institute of Photonics and Optical Science have developed a new type of laser. As the pulse duration of the laser decreases, the energy becomes stronger and stronger. This makes them ideal for eye operations.

Laser protection officer for medical applications

The occupational safety device for artificial optical radiation OStrV and the TROS laser radiation,
which includes the technical rules of laser radiation have redefined the position and responsibility of a laser protection officer in the clinical and practice environment.

biolitec offers its customers the 1-day basic course for special laser applications - laser protection officer according to OStrV and TROS, so that doctors and medical personnel are optimally prepared as laser protection officers and can prove their expertise with a corresponding certificate.

Interview with Holger Bäuerle, Vice Managing Director

1. Can CeramOptec® customers be supplied punctually and safely despite Corona?

Due to the fact that we have a very good structural setup and each colleague can handle all industrial inquiries, there is no delay in the processing of quotations and orders. In addition, we work 100% in our production.

2. Can CeramOptec®'s customers assume that this will continue to be the case in the future?

All CeramOptec® employees do their best to keep response and reaction times as short as possible.

3. Will the market for light guides become more difficult in the future due to supply bottlenecks from abroad, China, etc.?

No, because there are only a few full-range suppliers like us on the market, and in addition the goods "Made in Germany" are still in great demand abroad.

4. How do you protect your employees?

We have, of course, taken measures to protect our employees, such as the possibility of working from home. Furthermore, we provide sufficient disinfectants and face masks. Meeting rooms are only used with a maximum of 4 people.
